I work in Accounts Payable. Here are the red flags I saw with this invoice:
• We don’t have a “Xerox Altalink C8045” printer
• The invoice is for Xerox “supplies” costing $1200 – it seems like for that much money, they should be more specific about what they are selling us
• A google search for this company and the Item number they supposedly sold us revealed multiple negative reviews about this company, stating they sent fake invoices for around 1200, that they offer $100 gift cards, that they never actually ordered from this company or received anything from them
• They called me yesterday and offered me a $100 gift card that they supposedly give to all their customers
• They call me from a blocked number
• They don’t answer the phone number on their invoice, and their recording is vague and sketchy 888-233-7392
• They offer a 10% discount for ACH payments
• Their mailing address is in Canada
• Their W9 address is a mail pickup location in California, not a physical location
• This is the only invoice they have ever sent us
