Type of a scam Advance Fee Loan

I was contacted by a Bowers Byron with the promise of a personal loan of $100K to buy some filming equipment for my production company. After filing out a BOWERS loan agreement I was quickly approved for the loan. I sent over my pay stubs and a copy of my license for verification. Before the loan was to be sent over to me I recieved this letter –

"This is to inform you that after due consideration of your project’s feasibility and after vetting and verification of your received details, your loan has been approved, attached is your letter of approval.

Given the nature of your loan (unsecured) and acting on the prudent counsel of my risk assessors, You are required to pay a loan processing and documentation fee of *$1,950, for legals and the drafting of your loan contract to be signed by you and have your approved loan funds disbursed to you. Endeavor to respond in a timely manner."

He sent me his bank information and info to deposit the cash. I decided to call a local attorney who told me that this might be a scam and not send him any money but to ask for an escrow account. when I did, he got racial and distant. blocking me and insulting me in following emails. I have since cut communication.

Do take this post down, this false and an unfair slander on Mr. Bowers person, he runs a legitimate loan program of which I am a beneficiary, I was able to do a rehab and also a filp which i paid upfront fees for both loans, to be honest i was a bit skeptical on the first loan but he came through and the same goes for the second loan, as you stated he expalined the reason for the fee, do not label him a “scam” simply because he didnt change his terms to yours.
