I called local PD, US POSTAL POLICE AND THE FTC. I am not a Senior Citizen that doesn’t care!

Mystery shopper scam. They have you purchase credit card gift cards under the guise of the shopper experience – then require you to upload the card numbers “for record keeping”. The check they send you is eventually validated and bounces, but the $2000 you spend on the cards goes to the scammer.

Same exact experience as the others. Provisional Assigment letter with a check from Chester Hamilton HR manager (971)317-3468. Not sure where I should be reporting this so they can be caught.

Same experience as the others. I called the bank and the routing number and account numbers were correct, however the checks are out of sequence. Also when you go to their web site, www.brandsresearch.com, all of the active buttons will not route you anywhere.

I received a large cashier’s check from this company and immediately realized they were operating a scam. I agree with the above complainant’s comments. I will of course, not be cashing/depositing the check, but I will be filing a complaint with the FTC.

I received a “provisional” assignment from a Chester Hamilton, HR Manager at Brandsresearch.com. When I saw the large amount on the cashier’s check, I quickly surmounted this was a scam, and agree with the above complainant’s comments regarding how they scam their “mystery shoppers.” Obviously I will not be cashing/depositing the check, but I will be reporting the company to the FTC.

This particular "company" reached out to me for a mystery shopper opportunity. The claim to do research for different brands. A few days later I got a cashier’s check in the mail via Fed Ex with my assignment details. I was told to cash the check and then purchase specific items. Once the items were purchased (gift cards and groceries) I would then send a picture of the back and front of the cards to the email address given. I believe the check is designed for you to cash it against your own bank account and then once it bounces you are left owing said money back to the bank. I also believe that the pictures of the gift cards sent would give the scammer access and the opportunity to purchase items without having the actual cards in hand. This way they get to spend your money and you are left out of thousands of dollars. Unfortunately I cashed the check like a dummy. However, I do still have the email and the letter that I was sent.
