ENIACY INC

Jesse – Sep 05, 2020

My husband got on a porn site on his Apple phone. All of a sudden a number popped up on his phone to call to prevent the information from being sold. He called the number and for a one time fee of $100 he would be protected. We checked the credit card online for charges and it was Eniacy, Inc in Hollis, New York. I got on this web site and saw that it is a scam.

While on a website a Safari symbol appeared warning me that all my personal data is at risk. A number for for "Apple" support was provided (888) 601-0612 (ENIACY INC.) I was unable to exit out of it and my phone was locked on that screen so I called them. They told me I needed to pay them or all of my information is at risk and it would be sent to my contacts. Panicked, I gave them my payment quickly as they told me it was time-sensitive. He told me his name is William and his extension is 1004, and that they are located in Hollis, New York.

After the phone call It was clear that my interaction seemed suspicious. The next day I called on a blocked number (to protect myself) to get some more information and see if I’ve just been scammed. When "William" answered the phone I asked what company it was and he quickly hung-up. I called back and the phone call was again ended on his behalf. I waited for about an hour and called and acted as if my Safari has been locked and was in the same situation I previously experienced. I asked for some more information and he again said his name was William but this time he was based in California and his extension is 1003. He started asking me repeatedly what my message said specifically and was acting wary. He grew irritated and said give me the payment now or stop wasting my time with all these questions. He told me if I didn’t pay my information would be sent to my contacts and if I want to use my phone again I need to provide him with payment immediately. I then asked him why his extension/location today was different from the one he provided yesterday and he hung up. I went ahead and canceled my credit card but I don’t want anyone else to fall victim to this scammer.
