Type of a scam Online Purchase

I tried to place an order on this website. After submitting the order, I did not get an order confirmation. After several emails to them, they did finally send something, but it was not what I ordered, or anything close (instead, if was a much less expensive unrelated item). I called and emailed their customer service department numerous times, but either got no answer or a simple reply that just said they would need to refer the matter to their corporate department, and then did not get any further info for weeks or months. When I disputed the charge with American Express, HAAN actually went as far as to submit false information to American Express in an attempt to get the charge reinstated. To this day, I have still gotten no response or information from them regarding my real order. I am not sure what kind of scam these guys are running, but clearly they are trying to take advantage of consumers.
