Total money lost $100

Type of a scam Online Purchase

Initial contact via Facebook ad "too good to be true:" Low, low price (under $2) for Trial Product. After giving my contact, address, and credit card information and attempting to finalize agreement, was prevented from doing so by a new page the merchant presented, forcing me to choose an additional product at an increased price. Nowhere did they provide a "Submit now" option. Just forced higher-priced product on me.

At this point I became suspicious, and closed down the page, and my computer.

Some days later (I forget how many), product did come in the mail. I thought no more about it.

Some weeks later, more product came. Bewildered, I wondered "from whom" it had come? There had been no visible "fine print" on the merchant’s pngage, that might have indicated they were putting me on an "autoship" program. Nothing of the sort. (Remember, I had already shut down without clicking "Submit.")

Now, this week, in April, 2017, yet a third shipment has arrived, without my consent or approval.

Only instead of under $2, these shipments are charging my credit card over $85 and $91 …. (Am attempting to track-down exact amounts; there seems to be some discrepancy.)

In their email messages, they do include a phone number, but do not include a mailing-address. (I believe there may be one on the package label — which is currently not in a place where I can easily access it. I may be able, later, to retrieve it and add to this information.)

Sorry to say, I have no example of what I received that I am able to attach at this time. Again, I am willing to attempt to do so, at some point ….

One last — and somewhat confusing — problem: The amount of dollars I have lost so far seems a bit ambiguous. The packing slip amount does not match the amount stated in my emails from the merchant; also, my past credit card statements are not available to me at this time (I believe the bank will be sending me the information within the next week).

Therefore, once again, this matter is something I must also further look into before I can estimate or confirm a specific dollar amount.
