Type of a scam Tech Support
I was on my computer when a red screen appeared that said do not turn off your computer or you will use your passwords, files, etc. I called the number on my screen, 866-217-0659 and spoke to Tim Boon. He cleaned up my files and said I could get protection for 3 years for $503.90. He asked for my credit card information, which I gave and wanted a copy of a check. I was suppose to call today with my check information. I spoke to a friend that told me this was a scam and I went into my back and they changed my credit card number and gave me a code for my checking account that is needed in order for anyone to take money from my account. I am taking my computer to Best Buy to have them check it for malware.
