Type of a scam Online Purchase

Stayed they were I tech representative, company going out of business, wanted to refund my money, 320.00. Wanted to see the money to my checking account and said there might be a overage on the refund that I would need to send back. The amount sent was 1600.00 and the wanted me to go to Walmart and get a google play card for 1200.00 and send it to them via the computer, taking the number off the card. I have refused to do this but supposedly still have the 1600.00 in my checking account. I would like to send the money back directly to the company and they said this is not possible. Suggestions?

Type of a scam Tech Support

I received a pop up box saying from microsoft, my computer froze and a loud alarming voice came on repeating the same message my computer was infected and breached and if I did not call the phone # on screen my IP address would be reported to authorities. It just kept repeating same message and I could not turn my computer off or do anything. I called number and was told I needed for them to access my computer and repair it or would not work that it had viruses and all my info was going to be available for hackers to get. I kept telling both men I talked to that I felt my computer was being held for ransom and they just kept talking around that telling me I would not be able to use my computer so I gave them access. Then I was told they would sell me protection and fix my internet for all my devices including my iPhones, tablets, computers, and printers. I was charged $1299.00 and my laptop was not fixed, they ran some window updates and told me to let run all night and would be good in morning. Next morning updates were still running so I called microsoft and got some legitimate help and they have been working on and off with me for last two days to get corrected. Company calling me telling me I owe them for what they did first night (when my computer was held for ransom) and they have a recorded statement saying I ok’d it. I advised them I stopped payment at my bank and hoped they had a recorded statement of man telling me he was going to fix my internet and speed it up for all my devices because I talked with microsoft and was told that they could not get in to my internet provider and that company was telling incorrect information. Also they did not want a credit card because they said it could be hacked so they wanted me to use my bank account, which now I believe they know it is harder to stop payment at your bank then call the credit card company and stop charges. These people are ruthless…

I have received persistent phone calls from two different (?) men who represent themselves as being from I Tech. They want to "fix" my computer because, as they say, it is in immediate danger of attack by various viruses which will cause it to crash. They are very insistent. One of these men identified himself as Alvin Smith. He gave me a call back number which was 800-439-7794. He said I Tech is associated with Microsoft. He spoke with an accent that is foreign to me…I am a Caucasian native born American citizen. This has been occurring this week and several weeks prior to this. Today’s date is December 4, 2015.
