Type of a scam Tech Support
I received a phone call yesterday from the "I Yogi" folks who I have had my computer security with for several years. They said they wanted to check my computer, as they have done previously. They said I had multiple virus and were going to try to fix it. but would refund my money as I was still under contract. They said they would refund $200.00 yesterday and the $179.00 today. When I entered the $200.00 I hit the last 0 too long and it was 2000. They asked me to send a money gram to the Jerome Martinez Martin in the Philippines. I could see in my account I had $4000 + dollars rather than the $2000. + so I sent the money gram. They asked me not to touch my computer until they called me today. They did not call, so I rang the I Yogi number and a person answered and said they were out of business and I had probably been scammed. I just checked my account and yes there was no deposit only the $1,800.00 I sent them. Can you help me? The phone number given is 716-245-6371 With the name Mark Anthony. I feel a fool. Please advise me if there is anything I can do.
