Consumer called explaining that she was contacted by an individual named Michael Bond who told her he was with the FBI and wanted to help her get her money back from when she was previously scammed. She had been scammed about 8 years ago when someone contacted her that she was receiving a government grant and just had to pay in the amount of $350.00.
After Mr. Bond had collected some basic information from her like her Name, Address, Gender, Martial Status, and Nationality. He finally told her that all she would have to pay to help them retrieve her money back was $350.00. This was a major red flag for her so she immediately backed out, so the individual then told her he could do it for $70.00 instead. That’s when she knew for sure that it was a scam.
