Type of a scam Government Grant
I was called from an unknown number. A woman indicated that I have been chosen to receive a one time federal grant of $9500 because I have no criminal record and I have paid my bills on time. She gave me a verification code and a call back number. When I called the number, 202-643-9720, A gentlemen answered stating he was from the federal reserve bank and asked for the verification code. I provided the code and chose to pick up the cash at walmart. The gentlemen informed me that I need to register online and pay a $200 fee which they would reimburse. That is when I hung up.
