Type of a scam Online Purchase
I was looking for the best price on a particular brand and model guitar case. The MAP for this case is $149.99, but Instrument Spot’s price was $77.35. In my excitement I ordered one, and promptly received an email receipt. Then I started looking at the prices on their other merchandise, and they were all unrealistically low. Becoming suspicious, I looked up their address and, with the help of Google maps, discovered that the address they have on their web site is empty space under a highway overpass. Next I tried calling the phone number listed, but got a message that it couldn’t be connected as dialed. I looked up the area code, and it’s a Michigan area code. So I called my credit card company and had them cancel that card so it couldn’t be used by them. I haven’t heard back from Instrument Spot about my credit card not working, so I assume that my suspicions are correct.
