Type of a scam Government Grant
Received a text from a former neighbor I grew up with about money he received from a fund to help people who are having a hard time. Since FEMA provided money earlier I thought tbis mifht be similar until I contacted his contact who informed me I was receiving a $40,000 Grant. Since my friend was texting me to make sure everything was ok I thought I was going to receive a grant application for the money. After providing my contact information I was told a check for $40,000 was going to be delivered to me at any address I provide. At this time I know there is a problem so I contact my friend and say I’m on the way to his house. I text Agent and say my spell check changed my date of birth and apt. number to provide different information. I’m contacting credit bureaus tomorrow to place a watch on my records for any new credit applications that may be made by these people.
