I received a certified letter in the mail. I wasn’t expecting anything. I started to do a little research and found a similar story about this scam. They want you to cash a check and purchase 4-5 Wal-Mart gift cards @ $500each and take pictures and send them to the number.

Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order
I initially read an add online needing mystery shoppers for Walmart’s’. I had been a mystery shopper for other companies in the past and the ad did not read as anything strange. I sent in my info. Several days later I received an envelope delivered by ups from a company called InterShop Research Inc.. There was a letter and Cashier check for 2515.00 included in the envelope. It gave instructions for me to immediately cash/deposit the check keeping 500.00 for my service. I had read of scams like this before. I received a text that same evening wanting to know if I had processed the check. Since the letter told me not to speak to anyone at Walmart’s I knew something was wrong. This cashier’s check was on a F&C Bank. I kept the letter and check for my files.
