I received the following email by way of my school email from a fellow student. I kept getting a text from someone asking if I received my survey assignment. I ignored him. My brother happened to see an envelope on my door sent via FedEx. I opened it and there was a check for $2600 and a letter congratulating me for being pre-qualified. The letter asked me to go to a Wal-mart and purchase gift cards, then send the info via text to 504-434-5990. Nope! I googled it because I knew it sounded too good to be true.

They contacted me about doing surveys, and working for them. I’ve been contacted by different “companies” about this lately. I’m pretty certain they’re a scam. I hate to say it. I’m passing on this info in hopes it’s investigated, and either confirmed, or found to be an actual company. Thank you.

Walmart does offer a survey, located at survey.walmart.com, which is advertised on random receipts in our stores. This survey is only offered online and customers are only offered entry through register receipts – not via phone, text, or email.

Next, they asked you to scratch out the numbers on the card and email or text a image the above-mentioned. After doing so you are sent a survey.

Received check for 2600 and a letter via FedEx. I was supposed to deposit the check to my bank, then text them that I had deposited it. Then I was supposed to buy two $500 gift cards from Walmart, scratch off the back and send a picture of the backs of the cards and the receipt to them via text message. I called the bank the check was supposedly drawn on, which BTW had only one authorized signature altho there were two lines, and I am mailing them the letter, check, and envelope.

This has to be to good to be true I received a letter with a check in it for $2620.00 they wanted me to cash in my checking account and take it all out except for$500.00 that is supposed to be my share next they want me to purchase 4 $500 gift cards from Walmart 2 at two different stores then scratch the backs off take pictures along with the receipt and have you text it to them. Then they will send you a survey to complete and even before I had a chance to read it all I was offered through a text to hurry and I would receive an extra $100. I be been scammed once before this and will never fall for it again I lost my banking account and wZ told.u would be prosecuted if they found I was a knowing participant in the scam so I did not even attempt this one.

I also received a Cashiers Check for $2,620.00 telling me to deposit the check and go get 2 Walmart Gift cards. Then ask cashier to load and activate these cards. Scratch off codes. Then send a clear picture to (317) 210-0645.
They get my money and I get ZERO!!

I received an email about receiving a fed ex envelope within 24 hrs. I got the fed ex. it was a priority overnight envelope.Inside was a letter and a cashiers check for $ 2,620. The letter stated I was selected to be a Walmart secret shopper. all I had to do was deposit the money into my bank account. call them as soon as it was cleared. Do not tell anyone about this as it will ruin the idea of being a secret shopper. as soon as it clears, take it all out in cash and keep $500. then go to a Walmart and spend $100 on something personal for me. then go buy 2 $500 Walmart gift cards. get the receipt and cashiers name. Then go to another Walmart near by and get 2 more $500 gift cards. Once I have them, scratch off the back, take a picture of the numbers,reciepts and text it to them along with the cashiers names.they will email me a survey to fill out on my experience.

I received a priority overnight FedEx package. Enclosed was a cashier’s check for $2,620 and a letter from Intershop. In the letter, I was said to be "pre-qualified to take part on out secret shopper program". I immediately sensed that this was a scam and searched the internet. and found an article from NBC 12 in Richmond VA Dec. 21 2017 updated Aug.10th about a similar secret shopper scam also involving WalMart gift cards.
