Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order
I contacted a company who was selling advertisement for iPhone 8. If I got their ad decal put on my front doors of my car I would get $500 a week. I got a check in the mail for $2490.I was to take my first week payment for $500 out and get the rest in cash after depositing the check in my checking account. Then I was to send CASH of $1940 in an envelope and send it to Michelle Cordova, 8515 Tampa Ave., Northridge, CA 91324 via UPS Next Day Carrier. I was to keep $50 to pay the graphic expert who would be sent out to put decal on my car.
I was scammed about 2 years ago and knew this was fishy as it followed the same pattern of the scam before. I went to the bank to verify the fraudulent check. They will proceed to their fraud department. I contacted the police in Northridge to tell them I was investigating this scam and that it would end up in their town.
