Type of a scam Employment
Was contacted via text message by this scammer who found my information on the Job Center of Wisconsin website. Offered me a "job" at $30 per hour. Didn’t want to speak to me over the phone but instead insisted that we talk via Google hangout. Sent me a check for $3900 overnight, asked me to deposit it, withdraw $2500, purchase software at Walmart and ship it to another person in Washington DC. Thankfully, my bank stopped me from withdrawing the money and told me that the check was counterfeit. I had to pay $25 to my bank for depositing a bad check, but at least I didn’t lose $2500.
