Selling a dress on offerup and scammer asked for my phone number to text. They then sent $1,650 (the price of the dress was $250) on purpose through a check so that we’d have to send the rest of the money back. and when i cashed the check, they cancelled it and then started asking for us to send them the rest of the money and they basically stole money from us. i didn’t realize they had cancelled the check until i checked my bank and it was at -$1,650. They wanted me to send the money through a bitcoin ATM.
