Type of a scam Employment
I received a text message offering me a job to visit Walmart, CVS stores and local stores in my area to review my interaction with the employees at these locations. I replied to the text asking for more information. I was sent a check in my name by priority mail for the amount of $2450.00. The letter in closed said to cash the check at my local bank or deposit it and then take $350.00 upfront for my pay, go and buy $50.00 of personal product at Walmart and then purchase 4 Walmart gift cards at $300.00 each. After that I was to scratch the 16 digit code and pin on the gift cards and email or text it to the above listed email and phone number.
