Type of a scam Family/Friend Emergency

This person first called my mother-in-law and posed as a lawyer representing my daughter and had a female partner who posed as my daughter. They claimed my daughter was in a car accident and then was arrested and needed $3,500 for bail. The female even gave grandma a reason why she was 3 states away. My mother-in-law then called me and gave me the information.

When I called this man and asked what had happened and where was she being held, he told me "right downstairs " and gave me the address of the Allegheny County Courthouse, 436 Grant St., Pittsburgh, PA, 15219. He said we should send the $$ in my daughter’s name via Western Union. He told my wife and I that he was waiting for some traffic video and was hoping to get it reduced to a traffic violation.

Then we finally got a hold of my daughter who was in town and found out she was safe and sound here in town and found out it was a scam. About 1 click from sending $4,200.
