I just received a call and the recording said they were Microsoft and they were monitoring my licensing because my account had been compromised. I was then transferred to someone saying they could help me with this and asked me to hit the Windows & R keys to give him access to my computer. Knowing this was a scam, it started giving the guy some grief who finally ended up hanging up on me.

I was on my computer and the screen became white and an alert came on that said they were with Microsoft and to call 800.986.9369. I did and the man said I had been infected with a virus but for $300 he could fix everything for me. I told him I didn’t have any money and he then said he could do it for $100.00 I told him again I didn’t have any money and started asking him questions and that’s when he hung up on me.

person pretending to be from microsoft advising that my computer was being hacked due to my poor security system. I fell for it and purchased a google play card ($500) which was supposed to pay for 5 yrs of new security. When they told me to get another card since this did not work they actually posed as CVS personnel to convince me that their "server" was down and they were having issues with activating cards and that my money would be returned to my debit card in 2-4 hrs.. I became suspicious (too late). Called CVS who confirmed by suspicions about a scam since there were no issues. I called my bank, called Google, called police, furnished FBI complaint & ScamPulse.com complaint. I was too late ….money was gone. They has redeemed the Google Play card. Expensive lesson learned today.
