I was using my laptop, free of problems, and suddenly a white screen pops up saying a virus has been detected and was stealing credit card numbers, Facebook login, passwords, ect., and blocked me out of my laptop and to call Microsoft (i have a Samsung Chromebook) (the number was at the bottom of my screen) in the next 5 minutes, it took me directly to a call center in what i presume to be India, i know because the man had a heavy foreign accent, and there were no options to gt you to the correct department (like with an actual Microsoft, Apple, Samusung, ect phone number) tried to confirm i was the correct person to make changes to my laptop. I think they were going to say they could help and then steal my info. Could have been innocent, but i truly believe it was a scam. Called to confirm with Geek Squad that no info was stolen from my laptop and was assured that as long as i did not tell any information, which i did not give to them. I was told it was a scare tactic to get money and to steal information, Geek Squad told me that.
