A man said he was calling from the NRA, I suspected to renew a membership I let expire, when I told them not to call this phone number again, the man wanted to confirm my telephone number. He read my number back to me and I said, "yes." After hanging up the phone I realized it was suspicious I tried to call back and the number was "temporarily unavailable." I think they were trying to get me to say the word ‘yes’ as part of that new scam to record my verbal consent to authorize third-party charges to a credit card or other service.
