Type of a scam Healthcare/Medicaid/Medicare

The caller said they knew that I visited a doctor last week. He was calling from MY phone number but without an area code. He was not a native speaker of English and was calling from a call center. He had all the information about me being at my doctor last week. No one should have known that I went to the doctor last week. I didn’t share any information with him.

Type of a scam Romance

Scammer contacted me on Twitter under the name Nelson Mac Hendricks. We chatted back and forth and then he asked for my phone number claiming that he was on an oil rig in Canada and it would be much easier to text. At first I gave him my Google voice, but then when he claimed he wasn’t getting the messages, I gave in and provided my cell phone number. We chatted and then he called. I could immediately tell that he wasn’t who he was claiming to be since he claimed he was raised in South Carolina and the person on the other end of the phone had such a strong accent that sounded like a tribal African accent that I could barely understand what he was saying. He kept coming up with different excuses that just weren’t adding up. He then asked me to send him iTunes gift cards, and I asked him for his email so I could just send it digitally. That’s how I got his email address. But then when I told him I couldn’t transfer gift funds and refused to go buy gift cards for him, he got upset. Luckily I haven’t heard from him again, but I’m concerned about the "say yes" scam and I’m hoping that this wasn’t something similar, because when he called I could barely hear him and I can’t remember if he asked me if I could hear him or not.

Read about this a few weeks ago, where they try to get you to say yes. Well, I got the call today, but in the heat of the moment I stupidly said yes. Reporting this right away just in case anything happens.
