I am trying to sell a car on Craigslist. I received a text message that they were interested in the car. We texted back and forth and then they asked for a vehicle history check and provided an URL where one can obtain such a report. They told me to send the report to an email address. I obtained the report, which cost $22.95. I used my credit card to purchase the report. I then sent it to the email address and it was returned to me (this mailbox is disabled). It then dawned on me that it was probably a scam so I contacted my credit card company.
