This company reached out to me saying they found my resume online and asked if I was interested in applying for a project manager position. They provided a well written job description. Even the website looked well made. There was a phone interview as well. After the interview, I was told I got the job, and assigned a series of case studies as training. They were graded. A "B" average or better was considered well enough to be hired on full time. Half way through, I was offered a part time job to help with ordering new computers for a new office in New York City. My training pay was going to be doubled and earn a bonus. Because I didn’t have full time status, I couldn’t use a corporate credit card. So, they would have me use a corporate checking account to offset payments to my card and purchase the equipment. Since the office wasn’t ready yet, I was to order gift cards and wait to order them. They ended up using the gift cards, because I had to send a log of them. Several days after the payments were made, they were returned on my card, and I never hear from them again. I’ve reported this as fraud to my card company, but need to share this so others do not make the same mistake. This is a well-orchestrated plot, and very hurtful.
