Type of a scam Online Purchase

I posted a used vehicle on Craigslist. Within an hour we received a call, but the call didn’t connect. Then we received a text message with a local area code (304-930-2240). The texter said, "Hey my fault–my phone has terrible reception right now — interested in your vehicle. I responded that sounded great we could talk tomorrow, (it was 10pm). Then, "It looks great but I have a few question", "Whats the price for your 2009 toyota?" I gave the price but wondered why they would ask when it was posted on the listing. Then, "Also, do you mind sending me a history report of the car to show the title is clean and no major accidents:", "The place my brother whos a car dealer recommended is: http://nowvinchecks.com send it to me at [email protected] if you can!", "Once i see a clean report from asapvinchecks.com we can setup a time for a test drive." This is where I became very suspicious. Why give me two websites to go to? Then a couple of more messages saying they’d make plans to meet after they receive the report. I went to verify the websites to see if they were legit. One isn’t working at all, but had a high risk rating, and the other was brand new and had a high risk rating. I then told them I was reporting them to the attorney general and the BBB. I have not heard from them since. However, a few minutes later I received another text from someone at a different number (336-938-2266). This one wasn’t a complete message and it didn’t make a lot of sense, but the end of it said, "I’ll need your full name as to be written on the check and delivery address for the check thank you." I was pretty sure this was a scam from the get go. Not sure if it was the same people or not. Good luck, and stay safe.
