Caller falsely identified as Quickbooks representative stating our subscription was renewing and the credit card we have on account to renew was denied. Pressured to pay over the phone as to avoid inactivation of our account the next day. Phone was transferred to another person who then offered a discount of $100.00 if paid over the phone immediately. Caller ID was listed as Private and caller had middle eastern accent.

Type of a scam Phishing

A man claiming to be with Quickbooks Intuit (cell phone ID was from Wyoming) called my husbands office phone (in Oregon) to say our customer list is not backing up and could be compromised. The caller stated he needed to remote into our computer to fix the problem. The phone number he gave my husband was to a limo rental company in California. I called the number while my husband was on the phone with the caller, another man answered phone with "Paramount Transportation". I could hear the caller talking to my husband in the background (he was on speaker) while I asked what the company name was again. The caller finally gave my husband the actual Quickbooks phone number, but said he did not have an extension there. He tried for a few more minutes to give us info to get into our computer before we told him "no". Definitely a scam to get into our business computer.
