Type of a scam Tax Collection
I received the following message on my landline: "Hi, message is intended to contact you. my name is Steve Martin, and im calling regarding an important action executed by the US treasury intending your serious offense. Ignoring this will be an intentional offense to avoid appearing before a magistrate church or jury for a federal criminal offense. I’d like you to cooperate with us, and help us to help you."
The man on the phone spoke with a foreign accent, most likely South African. The message echoed, and it sounded like it was a recording of a recording. Additionally, the sentences were cut off abruptly and sounded disjointed, leading me to believe that the message was a compilation of shorter recordings strung together.
