Type of a scam Government Grant
I have received over a dozen of these phones calls in which i receive a phone call claiming that the Government of the United States randomly chose my phone number for a check of x amount of money in which they go on to ask about your income where you live address if you have computers in your home and etc. They will also go as far as asking for your social security see i did not give them my social security or any information instead i just asked why? and when i made the telemarketer mad because of doing so i was called by my full legal name in which i do not register in anything using my full legal name so i was immediately caught off guard in which i asked how this person knew my full name when replied telling me he works for the government in fact i knew this was a scam when i answered the phone the 3 time, after asking to be removed from the callers list multiple times they kept calling me back each time with a different name and sometime with a different area code i knew this was a repeat offender because he would often say we were disconnected may we please finish this.These scams will also go as far as asking you to run to the nearest Walgreen or Target and pick up a 200 dollar gift card and give them the information on the back. I’m tired of waking up at 4 am to these phone calls and personally tired of trying to fight them off. I’m afraid that they have somehow found my personal information ad have already distinguished credit cards or something in my name I do not have any credit cards currently in my name at least with me. So be aware don’t answer the questions and if they do not leave you alone tell them you are reporting them and they will stop calling you at least from that phone number. While writing this i received yet another phone call in which he exclaimed to me that i am receiving a grant of 14,000 dollars due to a drawing of my name and phone number. so i explained that i was currently reporting him and that he needs to stop calling me in which the man seemed distraught as evidence by the tone of his voice he kept saying ill stop calling you .Unfortunately my phone does not allow me to block these numbers but they also somehow use IP address from computers and call using the area code in which the computer is registered in therefore they can call from a different phone number each time. please be aware do not answer these question and continuously report them. If you don’t know the phone number don’t answer.
