Type of a scam Tax Collection
A person called with a heavy Middle Eastern Indian accent claiming to be "Jason Brown." It sounded like a call center in the background. He said he was from the U.S. Treasury office, calling about a law enforcement issue pending on me (i.e. tax fraud). He wanted my attorney’s info so they could start with legal proceedings. Also I was told that I was going to receive info tonight in person and that I was going to be arrested by the U.S. Treasury.
When I pressed, he said he couldn’t give me any details–I would have to call the Treasury office–and then he gave me the same number he was calling from.
