Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order
Received an envelope in the mail from Spain (based on the stamp and postmark), with no return address on the outside. Inside the envelope was a letter and check. The letter was from Ultimate Management Co. By: Walmart Stores. It described a part time employment opportunity as a "consumer service evaluator". The letter stated that the recipient must go to www.ultimatemanagementco.com and enter a user id and password given at the bottom of the letter for a training assesment and breakdown of the enclosed check. It said that after the assesment an assignment would be given to be completed within 24 hrs. The check was for $1998.35 dated 4/24/17 (two days after receipt). The name and address on the check was: Walmart Inc. 702 8th St. Bentonville, AR 72716, and appears to be issued by Wells Fargo Bank N.A. 165 E Franklin St. Chapel Hill, NC 27514. The check does look legitimate, but upon some research Walmart does not participate in any such programs and the best course of action would be to disregard the letter and check.
