Type of a scam Fake Invoice/Supplier Bill

Universal Supply Center (USC) poses as an affiliate or official vendor of printer ink and toner for well known companies such as Ricoh, and HP. USC mails fraudulent invoices claiming to be part of the existing ink/toner agreement you already have with the company who managers your copy machines and printers.

We received a $1,054.72 invoice for toner we never ordered. We order our toner through our copier’s supplier under contract, and no one had ever heard the name of this company before, much less ordered anything from them, so it was clear to me that this was a scam. When I called the number listed on the invoice, I got their voicemail asking to leave my name, company name, phone number and invoice number. I left a message and told them to remove this charge as we had never ordered anything from them. Still have not heard back from them, but wanted to file a scam report with the ScamPulse.com in the interim to hopefully warn anyone else who receives invoices or supplies from this fraudulent company. We have not received any toner from them, but if Universal Supply Center tries to send us any, I have ordered our UPS carrier to refuse it. With many of these scam companies, accepting a package from them is seen as entry into a contractual agreement with that company. So do not ever accept any packages unless you know from exactly where they’re coming and by whom they were ordered. Otherwise, it could be a nightmare trying to undo the damage these scam artists will try to inflict on your business.

We keep receiving fake invoices in regards to toner orders for our office. We have never heard of this company and already use another company. This fake company is using a previous employee’s name as the contact for these fake orders by mail. They have our contact information which includes address and phone number.

I am an office manager at a private school. Our school received an invoice from a company named UNIVERSAL SUPPLY CENTER saying we had ordered toner for our copier. Our copier make and model number was on the invoice as well as our phone number, address, my name as a contact person, a shipping date, a shipping company, a representative initial, item code and an invoice number. The invoice showed that we had ordered 2 toner units for a total of $996.00 plus $57.21 for shipping. Our company has a contract with another company for our copier which includes toner, so we knew this was not legitimate. We have not received toner from this company, and there was not a tracking number. I checked online and could not find any company anywhere with that name. I tried calling the phone number listed twice and just got a recorded message that they were either on another line or not available.

A few weeks ago, I remember getting a phone call asking what our copier model was and if I was the person in charge of ordering supplies.

Received an invoice for toner. Called the company that we use to service/buy toner for our printer and they said that we did not and the did not order toner for our building.

Looked the company, Universal Supply Center, up online and could not find a business matching the information on the invoice.
