Michael Jr Zorn was re-homing a Congo African Grey on Facebook. He said he was located in Norton Virginia and that he didn’t want to pay for the shipping of the bird without a down payment. We sent him $300 via money order as requested by him. The next day I got an email saying the bird was ready to be shipped and would be here that day. The shipping company required a $1325 insurance fee to get the bird here and said it would all be refunded upon delivery of the bird. I talked to the original owner I paid $500 via money order as company requested. and the owner said he paid $825 to the company. They told me she would be there that night and she wasn’t. The next day I got another email saying that the temperature from the altitude change was messing with my bird and that she needed a temperature regulating cage to continue. I paid $400, also said to be refundable, via money order. They told me she would be there that night and she wasn’t. The next day I was told that my bird was in Oklahoma waiting for me to get a permit to have the bird in my state. This takes a while to get so the company said they could give me a temporary one for $500,75% would be refunded ($375). I sent them $300 and the owner said he paid the $200. I was told that my bird would be here at 9:30 pm CDT, I waited until 10:30 and my bird was not here. The company stopped emailing me back and the owner stopped messaging me back.
