Type of a scam Sweepstakes/Lottery/Prizes
I received a telephone call from 844-361-9558 The person, Donald Green, claiming to be from the National Gaming Control Board and giving me a claim number and directions to call US Sweep Stakes Company at 888-789-9558. I was given web sites to go to from Donald at https://www.ussweepstakescompany.com and https://thengcb.com. The person I spoke with at 888-789-3927 (US Sweeps Stakes Co.) told me I had won $975,000.00 and both numbers had asked if I had ever belonged to AAA. I said No. Then they asked if I ever signed up for sweep stakes or games as such and I mentioned PCH. The person at US Sweeps Stakes Co. talked with me a long time and mentioned my winnings had expired and he had to re-intiate them for me to claim my prize from drawing #236. He stated at a certain time on Tuesday July 31, 2018 a person by the name of Ms. Diane Kennedy will come to my door with an envelope containing and hand me a cashier’s check for deposit only and 1099 forms along with C11 forms to be filled out and signed. Then he mentioned I need to have a cashier’s check ready for 10% of the winnings to send to a bonded agent that was paid in full before Diane Kennedy could arrive. He stated this was because of the Patriot Act and had much to do with terrorist and how they operated since 911.
When I said I will pay him after I receive the money then he mentioned Ms. Kennedy would not show up with the prize money. I mentioned that is probably why you have never sent the prize money in the first place because I do not have money to pay for money I may never get. The man with the US Sweeps Stakes Co. was very articulate and convincing that this 1000 page document "The Patriot Act" specifically explained why the $9700.00 (the 10%) had to be paid before the prize money would be delivered. He also said the company issuing the prize money will pay all the Federal Income tax on this money and that I would only be responsible for my state income tax.
