I received a letter from Prudential Financial, Head Office: 951 Bloor Street, Toronto Ontario, Canada. The letter states that the included check for $4,600.00 is to defray the cost of claiming the prize of $500,000.00, with a tax payment amount of $3,480.00. I am to call the phone number listed to activate the process and the check. The check is drawn in the name of Bed Bath & Beyond, it does look legitimate, but since the bank listed is JP Morgan, plain paper, no water marks.
I contacted Bed Bath & Beyond by email to let them know that their name is used in the scam and also did a search on the scam and unfortunately hit on one of the entries that is also a scam requesting $5.00 to have a legal advice that I did not need, so I closed the chat on them.
