This company notified me of vital computer security my computer required. They said they were located in New Jersey. I started with them last year, when I paid $800 for computer and network security for life ($400 for each). They sent a courier to pick up the money. On September 13, 2017, I received a call saying I needed internet security. I let them in my computer and now they are holding it "HOSTAGE" because they want an additional $500. The "initial cost" was to be $200 for 5 years. I told them I was not interested, from the beginning, but they never returned the control of my computer back to me. Then they notified me that there was a refundable charge of $500 through ITunes cards (silly me). I believed them since we were just recovering from Hurricane Irma and I guess I had a lot on my mind. I sent them the card numbers (I still have them) and was told that the cards were invalid since my computer is a Windows and not Mac. They cashed them in. Then I was told that I would have to send them a new card from Target for $500, also refundable once the program was installed. Another scam. All in all I was to receive $1000 back with $200 going towards the internet security. All $1200 looks like a total loss. Is there a way to recoup at least part of this money? They cashed the cards and told me they needed another one. This is when I accused them of fraud and they just hung up. I requested the home address and this is the address they gave me. I don’t even know if it’s legit. The names of the persons I spoke to, or at least they said it was their names, was Elliott Brin, Peter Williams, Paul Wilson #M91009/Ext. 9, and lastly Victor, who said he was the supervisor and could not help me unless they received more money. If there is a way to prosecute these people, please do so and throw away the key forever! If they knew there was a scam going on, why didn’t they investigate and shut them down? Incidents like this only go to ruin the reputation of a company that might be legit.
