I was called by a number that came up as being in Tennessee, which I looked up later as McKenzie TN. The initial call started with a recorded message stating my account had been suspended, but did not state who the call was from, and then a person picked up and stated they were from Verizon and that my account was suspended on suspicious activity, and they sent me a text message with a code i was to tell them. I went no further with the call, I hung up as it was very suspicious that the number was not an 800 type number and their call was strange. I immediately called Verizon Wireless official number where I found that the call was not initiated by anyone from Verizon and that there was nothing with my service wrong. The person at Verizon Wireless stated this was an up and coming scam where they go through to try and convince you that they are legitimate and ask for your information and get your pin number and such so they can then order equipment against your account. I would recommend if the call is NOT from a legitimate number you recognize then don’t answer anything the caller asks of you.
