I placed an add in cars.com to sell my sons car. I received a text saying they were interesting in buy my car and that they used ttp://vinunlock.com/ to get a report to sell their car. "Julia" asked that I get this report and send it to her before looking at my car. Said she did not want to get burned. I did. I ended up on a site http://www.vincheckup.com . When I looked at the text I saw it was from an 801 area code…not my area code. Then I looked at the e-mail address which was [email protected] which seemed odd.
Lesson learned, do not get excited about making a sale… take your time, look at the area code to see if it is from your area. Look at the e-mail domain and see if it is a common internet service provider (like @gmail.com, att.net, cox.net, etc.)
