Wal-Mart Money Transfer Security

Victim Location 84604

Type of a scam Identity Theft

After sending a Wal-Mart money transfer from store to store, one State to another State, I recieved a phone call within about 5 minutes but I didn’t answer because I didn’t recognize the number. They left a phone number to call and message about possible security problems with my transfer. The girl who left the message and also who answered the call back had a heavy accent and I had to ask her to repeat things. She wanted the Number of my Transfer to "verify" she had the right person, luckily I did not tell it to her, I told her there were too many scams… she said she understood but kept asking me other questions saying the money would not be availabe to the person until I answered the questions because there were problems with security in the area I sent it to (which I had not told here where it was going). She said once the money was taken you could not get it back. I told her I knew that.

I gave her no numbers to any accounts or the transaction but she wanted to know who it was going to, what my name was why was I sending it etc. Finally we got off the phone probably because I didn’t give her what she needed.

I told the person who was receiving it about the calls and they said it must be a scam…. he asked the Wal-Mart person he was just picking the money up from and they said Wal-Mart did not call you or do that. I reported it to the Wal-Mart where I sent it from as well as the one who received it.
