Type of a scam Tech Support

Phone call from woman on May 4th said she was from Windows Tech. Support and that my "updates were not working properly". I refused her access to my computer but I did comply with her request to tap windows flag and R and told her what was in the open widow. When I told her, she hung up. Tried to call her back but couldn’t get through so I called Geek Squad who told me that Microsoft/Windows Tech. Support do not make cold calls and that Web Clinic was not allied with Microsoft. I had called the number showing on my laptop as being Windows Tech. Support on January 23rd because my laptop screen had turned red and was emitting a siren-like noise which I could not stop. The "technician" had accessed my laptop, fixed the problem and I had allowed a charge of $338.37 on my credit card for 2 years warranty for such problems but according to Geek Squad, I had been the victim of a scam. I called my bank but as over 90 days had elapsed since January 23rd, they could not help me.
