Type of a scam Online Purchase
I purchased a set of Jessica Simpson Lovely Bath Accessories from the store, which came to $68. The set has apparently been discontinued, because I was only able to find the tumbler elsewhere. Th store gave me the option of using a Wal Mart Gift card as my payment method. I had one in the amount of $50, and had never found anything from Wal Mart I wanted to purchase, so I used it, thinking that I would pay the remaining $18 on a credit card, but there was no option to do that. I tried calling the company to offer to pay the remaining amount, but the phone doesn’t answer. I also emailed the company, and after about a week, got a canned response which did not address the issue of additional payment. As I was beginning to be suspicious, I did not contact the company again. I would be happy to pay the remaining amount when and if I receive my order. I did get a couple of emails showing my order as "Paid", then "Processed", then "Shipped" via UPN Carrier, with a tracking number. The package was supposedly shipped on 5/15. Although the tracking shows the package slowly moving around the country, I have not received the package as of 5/31, and am gathering that Well Stock Store is a fraudulent website. I have a shipping app, which gives a USPS tracking number, but USPS says there is an error in the shipping status. I also found information online that indicated that UPN Carrier is not a real shipping company. I attempted to contact Wal Mart to see if there was a way of replacing the funds on my gift card, and they say I need to seek restitution from the company I purchased from. The representative said that my gift card was depleted, and that the funds were used to purchase items directly from Wal Mart which were delivered, so they will not replace the funds on the gift card even though the purchases from Wal Mart were not made by me.
