Type of a scam Government Grant
My cousin’s wife (whom I don’t know very well) contacted me last night to tell me that she won a $100,000 grant from an organization called the National Monetary Fund. I expressed skepticism, so she sent me the Facebook page of her "contact" there, which I’ve given above. The whole thing strikes me as a transparent scam. I don’t know the details of her transaction, and don’t even know precisely where she lives (northern Virginia). So far I haven’t been able to convince her that it’s a scam. (She’s a recent immigrant here.)
I marked "yes" for she lost money, but I actually don’t know whether she did or didn’t. The form wouldn’t go through without my indicating something.
