Type of a scam Tech Support
Received call from "Windows Service Center" that my computer had a virus on it and I needed to give them access to correct. When I told the man he was lying, and that my computer had been off for quite some time because I had been out of town, he became quite belligerent — I hung up. About a week later, my neighbor talked to me and described exactly same scam had been tried on him, he was just a few keystrokes away from giving them access to his computer. I have reported the attempt to scam me to the local newspaper. I was not aware of attempt made on my neighbor at time I called them.
