Type of a scam Tax Collection
Had a call to home land line in Michigan from someone wanting to talk to Mrs [Asian name]. When I said she wasn’t home, she asked me to give her the cell phone number. I asked "Who are you?" and she then claimed to be from the department of Homeland security. She had an American, not foreign accent, but it didn’t seem legitimate to me, so I said "I don’t believe you." and hung up.
Was surprised to find the number is used by the Government Department, but pretty sure the number was spoofed and the call was just to try to frighten non-citizens into parting with money.
