Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order
I received an email through my university address requesting people willing to work in a work study program to make extra money. A check was sent to me (credit union) along with a form with instructions on assignment. I completed the assignment, sent in the gift cards, and my payment was to be $250.00. The check covered both the gift-cards and my payment for carrying out the assignment and writing a review. Check is deposited in account to carry through assignment. Once assignment is complete, the check bounces because it is counterfeit.
