Type of a scam Debt Collections
I got a phone call from 1-888-633-8396 claiming to be a debt collection agency. I spoke to "alex" who Claimed he works for and owns World Wide Recovery Inc. We were told my husband had an outstanding debt that needed to be paid to avoid going to court. We were offered a settlement in the amount of $900. I asked for email confirmation of the debt and the company name, original amount and info. I received that info, but it was very generic so I then requested documentation about their company as proof that it was in fact a valid collection company. I was hung up on, so I called back. I was then told that I could not receive this type of documentation unless I went to court, and then the court would have the paperwork with the documentation. I am not comfortable sending money to a company who can not prove to me it is vaild and legit. So I came to the ScamPulse.com which had a warning about this company stating it was no longer in business.
