Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order

Tevin contacts you via text. A check is sent to you that looks really, truly real but is sent by a Kelley Decker at the Clearwater, FL address. Tevin sends you a USPS tracking number (for the check being mailed) that doesn’t match what you receive. Being suspicious I sent a copy of the *** *** *** *** check to that bank, they researched it and reported it was fraudulent. Tevin starts pushing, the check is good, get it deposited and finish your mystery shopping assignment. Not falling for it. It’s a scam, he asks you to get several gift cards at the same location. I’ve had the same scam by phone but you don’t get a check first. They’ve obviously upgraded to sending out fake CASHIER CHECKS that banks always deposit as immediate funds available, push to get you to "finish your assignment" and a few days later the bank finds out it wasn’t a real Cashiers Check and takes their money back out of your account.
