Type of a scam Government Grant
The victim filed a trademark application through his own patent lawyer. Upon the information of the trademark is published, the scammer act as if he/she is the government trademark issuing agency and sent an invoice for such registration. The scammer may have a legitimate trademark application business, but impose himself as if they are government agency who grant such trademark or patent. I have consulted with my trademark lawyer and was informed that this is a scam.
