Same ,,fake” offer. Contacted me on my phone from 19012034631 person claimed to be Monessa Harris try to deposit fake check via Skype to my account. Do not trust this crooks

I had someone pursue this job offer and they claimed funds would be sent for the applicant to use in purchasing needed equipment and software. The criminals then sent via FedEx overnight, a ‘Cashier’s Check’ with an invalid routing number, with the urging the check be deposited immediately.
The applicant is then to contact the fraudsters with a photo of the deposit slip, likely as a ruse to obtain the account details. The check is bogus, so no funds will ever be cleared, however it is possible a victim could spend good funds in anticipation of a deposit that will never materialize.
Received text Not email) supposedly from Zip Recruiter: “I am Mr. Richard Lewis from ZIPRECRUITER Team. Your resume published on ziprecruiter has been reviewed.”
“You will be undergoing an interview with Human Resources Officer [sic] now and this interview won’t take more than 30 minutes of your time.”
Excerpts from the interview on Skype: “The position’s we have: Customer Service, Data Entry, Accounting Manager, Accounting Payroll, Admin Assistant, Sales, Operation Director, Operations Manager, Logistics Coordinator, Safety Manager, Office Admin, Project Manager, Technical Support, Project Manager, IT jobs, Cybersecurity, Accounting Clerk.. Which of these can you handle?” RED FLAG – no specific position evaluated against my resume, WHICH THE INTERVIEWER DIDN’T EVEN HAVE.
“You will be working online and from home, you can work from anywhere of your choice, the working hours are flexible and you can choose to work from anywhere of your choice, the pay is $49.87 per hour…” RED FLAG – ridiculously high pay offered for a customer service gig – I’ve never made more than $17/hour as a CS rep for anyone
After I was “hired” following a superficial “interview”: “The reason why the Company is sending the funds for your Mini office equipment is due to the fact that the company wants this to stand as a test of trust and also we want to know how good you can handle funds placed in your trust or care. All we need from you is good work and trust, you will enjoy every moment working with us. Can we get good work and trust from you?” RED FLAG -no reason for me to trust an anonymous writer over Skype, who could be ANYBODY. Conclusion: This has SCAM written all over it. The only surprising thing is they haven’t asked for SSN or banking info yet.
I had the exact same thing happen the other day. I’m just trying to play along since they promised a MacBook.

"Dear Applicant,
I am contacting you to inform you that your resume published on ZipRecruiter has been reviewed and you have been selected for an online briefing/interview with the Human Resources Manager Mr. Kevin Catalan to brief you more about the job position, duties and pay scale.
The interview will be done online via Wire. You are to quickly download Wire App on your phone or laptop, you can have Wire App downloaded using www.wire.com/en/download/ Also you can download the app on your phone via the App store / Play store. Once you have downloaded Wire App, you are to create an account and report online on Wire and invite Mr.Kevin Catalan On Wire and also send him a message Via Wire saying "HR-#PFRC57 – I’m here for my interview". His Wire App ID is ( @kevinscatalan).

I made contact with "Mr. Kevin Catalan" via Skype and after a bunch of vague "company information" and several standard interview questions I was "offered the job". I was told that at the "end of the presentation, I could ask questions", but then I had to specifically ask whether "now would be a good time to ask questions". At this point I was skeptical, but I asked several typical questions about the company, the team I’d be working with, challenges I might face, etc. All of the answers given were exceptionally vague, or "you’ll learn more about that later." I then asked what specific job on my resume attracted them to me, and the response was "I believe the Head dept viewed your resume and see you fit for the Job"…then they asked for my banking information.
Same thing happened to me and I talked to Kevin Catalan too.
